St Michael, the Archangel, Kirklington

This church dates from the 13th and 14th centuries. It has a bright chancel, some fine carved faces in the stone work and some noteable memorials to the Wandsforde family whose forebears were granted the local land at the time of the Norman Conquest ans whose descendants retain a continuing interest in the area.  The pulpit is said to have been made from a four-poster bed from the Wandesforde home at Kirklington Hall. It is a grade 1 building with a seating capacity of 250-300.
